Job Title: Consultant in Emergency and Critical Care

Our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) department is excited to offer the opportunity of a full-time ECC Consultant to join our flagship specialist veterinary hospital.

You would join our Emergency and Critical Care team consisting of 3 other board-certified criticalists, 3 ECC interns, 7 ECC nurses and 2 Animal Care Assistants. We work from a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit within our busy hospital, and our ICU is currently being modified and equipped to support a cardiac bypass service opening in the very near future.

DWR is an educational partner with the University of Nottingham, and the Dick White Nursing Academy is onsite. There is a thriving programme of house-officer educational rounds including weekly ECC board review.

DWR has an excellent and varied caseload supported by Rotating Interns, Residents, certified Veterinary Nurses, Fellows and 49 Veterinary Specialists including the following specialties: anatomical pathology, anaesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, emergency and critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, and soft tissue surgery.

We are conveniently located in Cambridgeshire between Newmarket, the home of horse racing and Cambridge, with its world-renowned University and amenities.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must be ACVECC or ECVECC Board-Certified. Experienced candidates eligible to sit the qualifying examinations for these colleges will also be considered.
